The WordPress is installed with the default theme you most likely would wish to change and here’s how to make it. So where you can get the free WordPress themes? Hover over "Appearance" -> "Themes" on the left. Click the "Install Themes" tab at the top then choose one. Don't obsess over this step because you can change the theme at any time.
  2. Update general settings. To set your website title and some of the main settings go to "Settings" -> "General".

Choose the page that you just created and saved, then click "edit" under that page. Click the "Add Media" button at the top of the page editor. Now choose "Select Files" and browse your local computer for the image you wish to add. Click your image once, then choose "open". At that point, the image will load and before saving, look to the far right. You can add Caption, Alternative Text, and Descriptions for the imge. Click "Insert into page." Then click "Update" to save your work.
  4. Set the "Static" Front Page. Hover over "Settings" -> "Reading". Under the "Front page displays" section at the top, choose "A static page" and select the page that you created in #3 (above) for the Front Page displays. Remember to click the "Save Changes" button.
  5. Make your site search engine friendly. Hover over "Settings" -> "Permalinks" and select "Post name". Save changes.
